As a pianist, Michelle (Mocun) Li made her orchestral debut of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.2 with the China Radio & Film Symphony Orchestra and conductor Shao En at Beijing Concert Hall in 2012. Moving to New York in 2013, she obtained her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at New York University under the guidance of Eduardus Halim, Sascha Gorodnitzki Faculty Chair. Recipient of the Steinhardt Music Talent Award (2019-21), Michelle has given recitals featuring early-20th century Russian repertoire in New York. Currently, Michelle is finishing her Master of Music & Advanced Certificate in Piano Performance at NYU - continuing her ongoing 7-year relationship with teacher & mentor Halim - and with a focus in Performing Arts Administration.
Following her internships at the National Center for the Performing Arts (Beijing) and Columbia Artists (New York), Michelle has been serving as Executive Assistant to Doug Sheldon since April 2019, working with him establishing the Sheldon Artists agency.
From 2002 – 2012 she studied piano with Dan Zhaoyi; throughout high school she studied with Boris Berman while attending Choate Rosemary Hall. In addition to English, Michelle speaks Mandarin Chinese and French.
