
Christine Chen
Project Development Intern
Born in Calgary, Christine Chen began violin and piano at a young age. She is an alumnus of the Academy program at Mount Royal University Conservatory and the Calgary Youth Orchestra. As a child, she participated in competitions like Canadian Music Competition, Calgary Concerto Competition and won many awards at the Calgary Performing Arts Festival. She received her BMus and MMus from University of Calgary and received her post-graduate diploma from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. There, she won the Honors Chamber Music Competition and served as concertmaster for many different ensembles. She made her Carnegie Hall debut winning first prize at the Concert Artist International Competition. She is also the silver prize winner of the Virtuoso International Music Award in UK. In Boston, she played with the Firebird Pop Orchestra and performed in many pop concerts at venues such as MGM Fenway, Berklee Performing Center and Agganis Arena.
